| | | | Porrats are street markets which take place on certain Saints days. On January 17 Oliva celebrates the "Porrat" of San Antonio in the Plaza de San Roque. It is a medieval market with stalls selling beautiful handmade arts and crafts as well as lots of food stalls. Traditional caldera or stew made from local vegetables is passed around throughout the festivities.
Street performers parade about entertaining the crowds and small shows take place in the main square. On Sunday morning the taking of pets and other animals to the Santos Antonios hermitage is a great spectacle.
There is a Mass in honour of San Antonio Abad and every type of animal is blessed from dogs and cats to iguanas and spiders. In February there is the "Porrat" of San Blas held in the plaza de Canguix. There are also many activities and games for children.
